Say what? I thought my wedding day was just that…. my wedding day! Well, there’s some good news and some bad news. The good news is yes, it is your wedding day and you should have the best when it comes to vendors and services. The bad news, it’s not only your wedding day, but many other brides as well which means that the great vendors get booked far in advance and are typically limited in how many events they can handle. What does this mean to you? It means book your vendors as early as possible and we’ll tell you why and how far in advance.
Right now, there is a bride-to-be searching the internet, picking up the phone, calling and booking your photographer and your DJ! You might have called before them, but you decided to either wait for meetings with other potential vendors, figured you could wait until you get closer to the event, or just put it on the back-burner that they will still be available whenever you decide to call back. The reality is that great vendors are great because others have seen them or been referred to them and they get booked solid all year round.
As A DJ, we get calls all the time from potential clients that say they will call us back when the event is closer to their date, to only call back and find that we have booked their date to capacity. I’m currently holding a stack of client information sheets 2 inches thick for 2014 events we could not fulfill due to limited resources on our end. A good problem for Cutmaster Music, but a bad problem for Brides that waited to book our services.

So what does it all mean?
It means that you as the bride not only have limited time to book your vendors, but you are also in a race to get to the best. Here’s an example from a recent bridal show, showing you a range of dates for 2015 and how many weddings are taking place that day. Remember, this is only one show and only the brides that attended that show. There are still more bookings for these dates in Albuquerque than are being shown on this chart, but you get the idea… BOOK NOW.
